What are KREC Continuing Education Requirements?

Once you have been a licensed real estate agent in Kentucky for two years, you must begin to take continuing education classes. According to KREC, you must take at least six hours of continuing education classes each year, and three of them need to be in real estate law.

Also, every four years, if you have an active license, you must take the Kentucky Core Course. There is nothing that will substitute for this course.

Why Continuing Education Matters

Taking continuing education courses keeps your license active. They also keep you current on laws and regulations and provide new skills and a deeper understanding of issues you may face. It also improves professionalism by keeping everything you learned to pass your licensure exam and new skills front and center. Continuing education classes, especially in-person classes, allow you to connect with other real estate agents, which can give you a broader scope, new ideas, and new opportunities.

Your clients may also trust you more when they realize you’re taking additional classes because it demonstrates your commitment to the trade and reassures them as you’re handling one of their most precious commodities. This can help you close more deals!
